Aquatica Adults runs judgement-free swimming lessons for grown-ups across Glasgow - whether you've never put your face under, or you just want to swim with real confidence.
You're exactly who we built this for.
Loads of adults never learned as kids - in fact, research suggests around 1 in 3 adults in the UK can't swim a length of a pool - and almost none of them say it out loud. There's no embarrassment here. Just a warm pool, a patient teacher, and one length at a time.
You don't need to have swum a single stroke before.
Nervous of the water? We go slow and never rush you.
No children's classes running alongside you - ever.
However much - or little - you can do, you're welcome.
Answer a few quick questions and we'll point you to the right course. There are no wrong answers - everyone starts somewhere.
Our adult programme is for swimmers of every ability - complete beginners, nervous returners, and anyone wanting to refine their technique. Feeling unsure about the water is completely normal, and our teachers create a calm, encouraging space where you move at your own pace.
Everything is structured and supportive, so each lesson feels like real, steady progress.
Confidence first, technique close behind.
A few of our swimmers celebrating after completing their course. This could be you in a few weeks' time.
Whether you'd like one-on-one attention or to learn alongside other adults, every space is released through our waitlist first.
Just you and your teacher, in a calm hotel pool. The fastest, gentlest way to build confidence.
Learn alongside a handful of other adults at a friendly price - just four to a group. Sociable, supportive, and still kept small.
Adult courses are booked as blocks. Pay in full when you book, or split the cost into instalments - your place is secured as soon as your first payment is made.
£250 per 1-1 course. Small-group blocks are £13 per lesson, paid per term.

Our adult programme follows a simple progression - confidence first, then technique and endurance over time.
A 4-week workshop for nervous beginners - water confidence, floating, submersion and basic movement.
Confidence with floating and supported swimming, plus basic kicking and body position.
Travelling independently and learning the fundamentals of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke.
Stronger technique across all strokes, with better breathing, body position and confidence.
Refining technique, improving stamina and becoming a stronger, more efficient swimmer.
Polishing all four strokes, building real endurance and swimming longer distances with ease and control.
Every 8-week course follows a 1-2-2-2-1 rhythm, so you build steadily and gain confidence across all the strokes.
Follows the full 1-2-2-2-1 structure above, across multiple strokes.
Our Introduction to Swimming course focuses on water confidence and foundations, so it follows a slightly different shape.
Run over 9 weeks, each one personalised to you from your pre-lesson questionnaire.
From the moment you book your 1-1 course, everything is structured to keep you progressing - and fully supported between lessons too. Small-group swimmers get the welcome pack, weekly at-home plans, check-ins and progress reports as well.
You'll get a link to set your goals for the block. It goes straight to your teacher, who talks them through with you in week one.
An assessment lesson - half poolside chatting through your goals, half in the water finding your starting point.
After lesson one your teacher hands you a welcome pack with your lesson dates, agreed goals and tips to get the most from your course.
From lesson two, you'll be emailed an at-home plan every Friday with your teacher's top tips to practise between sessions.
An optional feedback form every couple of weeks - your teacher reads and replies to every one.
You'll receive a progress report at the halfway point and again at the end, so you can see exactly how far you've come.

Not at all. Most of our swimmers are adults who never had the chance as children. There's no age limit on learning something this rewarding - and you'll be in great company.
Completely. Total beginners are exactly who we're here for. We start with the basics - getting comfortable in the water - and build from there at a pace that feels right for you.
That's very common, and nothing to feel awkward about. Our teachers are experienced with anxious learners - we never push, and we celebrate every small step.
