Brand new to the water?

You're exactly who we built this for.

  • No children's classes to feel awkward in
  • Small groups & 1-1 - never lost in a crowd
  • Patient teachers who start at your pace
  • Calm, private-feeling hotel pools
  • Group lessons in a pool we have exclusive use of
Kind words

From our swimmers.

If you can't swim, you're in good company.

Loads of adults never learned as kids - in fact, research suggests around 1 in 3 adults in the UK can't swim a length of a pool - and almost none of them say it out loud. There's no embarrassment here. Just a warm pool, a patient teacher, and one length at a time.

Total beginners welcome

How our lessons work

A clear path, wherever you start.

Our adult programme follows a simple progression - confidence first, then technique and endurance over time.

Stage 1

Introduction to Water

A 4-week workshop for nervous beginners - water confidence, floating, submersion and basic movement.

Stage 2

Foundations

Confidence with floating and supported swimming, plus basic kicking and body position.

Stage 3

Beginner

Travelling independently and learning the fundamentals of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke.

Stage 4

Improver

Stronger technique across all strokes, with better breathing, body position and confidence.

Stage 5

Confident Swimmer

Refining technique, improving stamina and becoming a stronger, more efficient swimmer.

Stage 6

Advanced Swimmer

Polishing all four strokes, building real endurance and swimming longer distances with ease and control.

How each course is built

Every 8-week course follows a 1-2-2-2-1 rhythm, so you build steadily and gain confidence across all the strokes.

Week 1Confidence
Weeks 2-3Front crawl
Weeks 4-5Back crawl
Weeks 6-7Breaststroke
Week 8Recap & review
8-week course

Follows the full 1-2-2-2-1 structure above, across multiple strokes.

4-week intro

Our Introduction to Swimming course focuses on water confidence and foundations, so it follows a slightly different shape.

1-1 lessons

Run over 9 weeks, each one personalised to you from your pre-lesson questionnaire.

What to expect

An assessment lesson - half poolside chatting through your goals, half in the water finding your starting point.

Your welcome pack All swimmers

After lesson one your teacher hands you a welcome pack with your lesson dates, agreed goals and tips to get the most from your course.

Weekly at-home plans All swimmers

From lesson two, you'll be emailed an at-home plan every Friday with your teacher's top tips to practise between sessions.

Check-ins along the way All swimmers

An optional feedback form every couple of weeks - your teacher reads and replies to every one.

Progress reports All swimmers

You'll receive a progress report at the halfway point and again at the end, so you can see exactly how far you've come.

Your questions, answered.

Am I too old to learn?

Not at all. Most of our swimmers are adults who never had the chance as children. There's no age limit on learning something this rewarding - and you'll be in great company.

I can't swim at all. Is that okay?

Completely. Total beginners are exactly who we're here for. We start with the basics - getting comfortable in the water - and build from there at a pace that feels right for you.

I'm nervous of the water.

That's very common, and nothing to feel awkward about. Our teachers are experienced with anxious learners - we never push, and we celebrate every small step.

What does it cost?

Small-group lessons are £13 per lesson, run in term-time blocks at the Abercorn Secondary School pool, and charged pro rata - so you pay for the lessons in the block. The next block is 8 lessons on Tuesdays (£104) or 9 lessons on Wednesdays (£117). 1-1 lessons run as 9-week courses at £250 - pay in full or split the cost into instalments.

What do I need to bring?

Just swimwear and a towel. Goggles are optional and a swim cap isn't required. We'll send everything you need to know before your first lesson.

How do I book?

Joining our waitlist is the only way we take bookings. When a space opens, everyone on the list is messaged at the same time - reply to claim it. We'll take you off the list once you have a place, or whenever you ask.
